The concept of soap nuts is fascinating to me.  Soap nuts fall from the Soapberry tree (Sapindus mukorossi) found in Northern India and Nepal. The outer shells of these dried fruit berries contain saponin, which creates soap when agitated in water. They effectively clean, soften and remove odors from your laundry!  I washed sweet Little Alyssa’s clothes with the soap nuts this and was happy to find that they did not agitate her eczema prone skin.  Whee!!  I need to use it on a few more batches of clothes to determine if this continues.  I have high hopes.

One of my husband’s white undershirts had a nickel sized mustard stain on it so I followed the directions for the Brightener & Whitener.  I dissolved the powder in hot water and put it in the washing machine.  I let my load of white sit in the full washing machine basin for 6 hours and then finished laundering.  The stain did not come out completely but was drastically reduced.  I then tried the Stain Remover on that same mustard stain, an oil stained purple shirt of mine, and a few Gymboree clothes so I could add them to my consignment sale pile.  Again the mustard stain remained.  I jumped up and down when I pulled my purple shirt out of the dryer and all the stains were completely gone.  Prior to trying Yoreganics I was convince that this shirt was headed to the goodwill pile.  Yoreganics saved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Woohoo.  As for the stains on the Gymboree clothing – gone as well.  Woohoo!  I was able to fight stains without busing out any bleach or chemicals.

I find myself reaching for my Yoreganics lip balm often.  It is perfectly minty.  There is no residue left on my lips.  And I feel good carrying it around in my pocket since it sports the USDA Organic seal.
