So by now you all know that one of my goals when it comes to my kids is to feed them healthy snacks and meals that they will actually eat.  After this week, I have another successful product to add to our list of things that I feel a little less guilty giving to my children as snacks, and they LOVED them!  What might those be?  Tasty Brand Organic Fruit Snacks of course!

Tasty Brand gave my family the opportunity to try their products.  They not only have fruit snacks, but they also carry cereal bars, organic frozen baby food, baby oatmeal, and rice cereal.  My son is just a little past that stage so we purchased two boxes of the fruit snacks.  I had two kids begging to try them before we even left the store so they enjoyed their first pack on the way home and somehow they have managed to go through an entire box in one day’s time.  I am even more excited about finding these because my oldest starts preschool in just two short weeks, and I need items like this to pack in her lunch.  I am sure that many kids will come to school with fruit snacks, but I have never been a huge fan of them.  My biggest complaint about them (and many snack foods) is the high fructose corn syrup.  I cannot tell you how excited I was to read in big letters on the front of Tasty Baby’s Fruit Snacks “NO High-Fructose Corn Syrup”.   I had a box of regular fruit snacks on hand and compared the nutritional facts between the two.  I was glad to see that not only did the tasty baby not have any high fructose corn syrup, but it also had 20 calories less per serving and three grams less of both carbs and sugars.  The Tasty Baby Brand Fruit Snacks are also a great source of calcium at 100% Vitamin C versus 20%.  Long story short, I am much more comfortable handing over a bag of Tasty Brand Organic Fruit Snacks to my children than the regular store brands.

The only complaint I have about the Tasty Brand (other than the fact that I’m bummed I didn’t know about them sooner when my kids were eating baby food) is the difficulty in finding them in stores.  The first location I tried did not have them in stock when I went, and it took me a while to get to the other side of town to find them in stock at another store.  I think I grabbed the last two boxes of fruit snacks they had on the shelf!  I have great news for those of you that want to try them and don’t have a location near you to buy them, you can order them online HERE and currently their site states that you can get free ground shipping!  I might have to just stock up on them now while the shipping is free (and the price is actually the same or slightly cheaper than the store I purchased them from anyway!)  They even have adorable gift packs that you can give as a gift to a new mom!  I can officially say I’m a Tasty Brand Fan now!
