How many of you love etsy boutiques?   There is nothing cuter than all the handmade and monogrammed items you can get off of etsy.  That’s why I’m so excited to introduce to you one of my newest favorite etsy sites.  Zerbert Baby is a company that creates and designs unique items for little ones and their parents.  Among their inventory, you can find burp rags, bibs, applique shirts and towels, blankees, and toddler bags.  I was given the opportunity by Zerbert Baby to review both a baby bib and toddler bag, and they are both huge hits here at our house!

Toddler Bag

THE FACTS:  Zerbert Baby came up with the idea for a toddler bag as a way to eliminate the need for a bulky diaper bag as the child gets older but still needs certain things such as wipes, diapers, and a sippy cup.  It is 11 x 11 in size and is personalized with child’s name for an extra touch.  All bags are made of 100% vibrant, fun fabrics and are lined for added durability.  They have a magnetic snap closure.

MY REVIEW:  My 4-year old daughter was very excited when we received our package from Zerbert Baby and seen that it had a bag made for her.   While it is monogrammed, I had it monogrammed with our last name rather than her first name.  The frugal side of me just had to have a bag that I could use for all three kids so it seemed more practical to have our last name on it.  That being said, I now think she probably would have loved it even more with her name on it.  I guess I’ll have to think about that next time around!  

I’m not sure there has been a day that has gone by since we received our package that my daughter has not been seen carrying it around in one capacity or another.  The first day we got it, she loaded it up with snacks, little ponies, and coloring book and crayons for a trip to my OB’s office  (see picture below as she was heading into the van).  She also used it to hold her dance shoes for her dance recital that week, and then just yesterday she was playing “store” with it and loading it up with her shopping purchases.  It’s the perfect size bag for her, and I think the best part about it is that it has a magnetic clasp on it to close it.  This makes the frustrations of zipping or buttoning for a toddler all go away when they can easily open and close the bag all by themselves!  While the bag may be small and toddler-sized, I have yet to see something my daughter wants to put in there not fit.  It seems to be the perfect little bag for any toddler!

THE FACTS:

• Side-snap closure (rather than Velcro) to eliminate baby from ripping it off or getting tangled in baby’s hair and make washing in a machine less hassle than the Velcro can sometimes be.
• Unique designed form TM to provide more mobiity for baby.
• Reversible styles (one side cotton style, the other ultra-soft mink fabric)
• Double needle construction for durability
• Size 8.5 x 11

MY REVIEW:  I am anxiously awaiting the day I can use this bib for better use.  When my first child was born, I was religious about putting a bib on her constantly, but it was so aggravating to go through two or three a day sometimes and still have to replace her shirt a time or two because the liquid would soak directly through the bib and onto her shirts.  It was such a production, in fact, that I just gave up the bib wearing (except for eating solids of course!) with my second and chose to just change his outfits since I found I had to change my first child even with bibs on.   Zerbert Baby’s bibs, however,  have eliminated that for me with their waterproof liner.  I actually tried it out on my 2-year old just to be sure.  He doesn’t really wear bibs anymore (and isn’t that great of a sport about it), but I stuck it on him and let him drink out of a cup with no lid, knowing I would get some spilled water that way.  While the bib was wet on the front surface, he stayed completely dry.  That’s all it took to sell me on these bibs!  As an added bonus, the styles are super cute so I am sure my new little guy will be sporting a Zerbert bib quite often as he begins the teething and messy eating stages!!
