Creativity is key to childhood.  Having items around that spark creativity in children is essential.  My girls are big into coloring with any medium and are always looking for new things to color on (hopefully never the walls), in, and with.  There are some really fun new products that we tried out that they love!

My five-year-old loves her Ariel Crayola Story Studio story so much that she declared “Mommy, when I am done coloring my princess book I am going to take it to school so I can look at it at rest time every day!”

For those of you with an iPad there is a really cool new gadget that allows your child to turn the iPad into an interactive coloring book.  The Crayola iMarker is a digital drawing tool.  With 64 colors in their digital Crayola box children can use an iMarker to create the look of Crayola crayons, markers, paints, and colored pencils as the stylus interacts with the iPad.  The coloring pages feature movement (for example, a blinking sun) and sounds.   There is an eraser function and a paint bucket tool – two essentials!    Children can save their work in a gallery to be emailed, printed, or uploaded to Facebook.  With the free draw children can play interactive games and create their own customized coloring pages.
