This post highlights Atlanta Area Pumpkin Patch: Warbington Farms.
Fall means pumpkin patches, and that kind of mean fun on the farm. One of our Fall Bucket List activities was to visit a pumpkin patch. We used a Sweet Jack voucher and headed to Warbington Farms, which is (way) north of Atlanta, Georgia.
The drive to Warbington Farms definitely makes you feel like you are in the country! Stores become sparse and land becomes abundant. Warbington Farms is a farm better known for their strawberries than pumpkins nestled in the countryside.
The fun at Warbington Farms includes pumpkins (although I am certain they do not grow the pumpkins on the farm and instead get them from another farm), hayrides, pony rides, petting zoo, giant inflatable, and a giant sandbox filled with shelled corn.
There are so many animals at Warbington Farms. We spotted llamas, peacocks, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and horses. Tip: Bring a quarter or two so you can purchase food for your children to hand feed the animals.
Warbington Farms had a small store where you could purchase tiny pumpkins, apple butter, and a few other goodies. Apparently there is a concession stand, but we missed it. It wasn’t marked with a big sign or was not apparently noticeable. If I had to guess I would say it was between the barns were the tractor parks for hay rides. We did see people with frozen lemonade, but I thought the purchased it in the store (alas, they did not).
There are several really fun things for kids to do. The pony ride cost $5 each and the girl were able to ride for several minutes. The giant inflatable is giant and has a ball pit at the end. Need I say more? There are two slides constructed out of PVC and they are pretty awesome. I went down the slide too! Big Sister loved holding the chickens and it was hilarious to watch her try to pick them up. She never was fast enough to catch one and always had to have someone else hand her a chicken. The hay ride takes you deep into the property where you see cattle. Several of the children on the hayride were scared of the cows loud moo’ing as they approached the feeding troughs that the tractor had parked next to. It was only temporary though.
The highlight of our time at Warbington Farms was the CORN! There is a giant sandbox that is probably 3 feet deep. Instead of being filled with sand, it is filled with corn. (Think canned or frozen corn – but really just shelled corn). The girls LOVED the corn and could have been in the corn box for hours.
If you are looking for a pumpkin patch, pumpkin patch then Warbington Farms is not the place to go. They did have pumpkins set out for people to buy….with wheelbarrows to carry them around. The area was small and a flat field. As far as pumpkin patches go, Burt’s Farm is a better experience if you want the pumpkiny feel.
If you are looking for a fun place to take your family that includes pumpkins as a secondary activity then Warbington Farms is a great place to go! They have offered coupons on their facebook page and blog that make it incredibly affordable for a family. We will definitely head back to Warbington Farms again. I am looking forward to Strawberry Picking Season next spring. My girls are begging me to play in the corn again which means I need to check their calendar and maybe coordinate a Warbington Farms/North Georgia Premium Outlets trip!
