Baby Event: BeFit-Mom DVD and Lullaby CD Review and Giveaway CLOSED

As mothers, we constantly have a list a mile long of things we need to deal with on any particular day.  Sometimes it can be easy to forget about ourselves and what is necessary and important for our own bodies.  If you are anything like me, you strive to get back your shape after having your little one but finding the time to head out to the gym is not the easiest thing to do.  Just because we might not be able to leave our home to exercise though does not mean we can’t have a great workout right in the comfort of our own home.

With the help of Helene Byrne, perinatal exercise specialist, BeFit-Mom offers a “Bounce Back Fast!” DVD that quickly and safely restores your body with simple and powerful exercises that are specifically designed for new mothers.  The DVD contains two progressive fitness band workouts that are suitable for all fitness levels.  You can even start one of the routines just days after giving birth (the second needs to wait until 6 weeks postpartum)!  With each routine only being around 30-ish minutes, you can exercise during nap times and get into shape in no time!

When I first turned on the DVD, I was impressed with how many different options were available on the DVD.  In addition to two 30-ish minute routines, the DVD also included four short workout exercises that were 10 minutes or less.  Everything was well explained and easy to understand on the DVD, and I liked that I didn’t need a ton of exercise equipment to do the routine.  The only thing they used that I didn’t have prior was a resist-a-band, but that was included with my DVD so I didn’t have to purchase anything additional to be able to perform all the workouts shown on the DVD.   I found the DVD to not be overwhelming or too fast paced.  In fact, the instructor discusses all the instructions while having someone demonstrate the moves for you.  It allows you to move at a slower pace if need be so you can understand and correctly perform each exercise.  After watching this DVD prior to delivery, I am excited to pull it out and get started after my newborn arrives!  It is such a relief to have a workout plan in addition to trying to eat healthy after delivery!

Even if you have yet to deliver your newborn, head over to BeFit-Mom and check out all the material available on her website.  She has so much useful information for moms both pre- and post- natal!

As if having a workout routine isn’t help enough for a new mom, over at BeFit-Mom they also have an Easy Sleep CD to help transport your baby into dreamland.  The “Tender Lullabies” CD offers a calming assortment of classical music that is played at 60 beats per minute, which is the resting heart rate tempo.   Because it is amazingly effective, they do not even recommend parents have it playing while driving a vehicle.

When I first heard about this CD, I was anxious to get it in the mail.  I have yet to have a good sleeper and at the time my 2-year old was still not sleeping through the night.  As Helene recommends, you have to play the CD as part of your routine as it may take some time for someone as old as my son to adjust and see affects of the CD.  As luck would have it, he actually started sleeping better the day the CD arrived (before I ever played it for him).  So obviously I didn’t get to review this as accurately as I was planning on at first, but now I have a new routine to start with our newborn so that maybe (fingers crossed) he can be my first good sleeper before the age of 2 years old!

I did play the CD and I have to agree that the music is VERY relaxing!  While it is similiar to many lullaby CDs, there is a definite difference in the music that I couldn’t quite pinpoint but it must be the 60 beats per minute?  It never speeds up and then slows down; it all just stays very rhythmic.  I anxiously await to see the results the CD has on my new little one!  Mommy could use some good rest sooner rather than later!

I just had a baby girl 7 weeks ago. <3 Excercising during pregnancy is important because staying healthy and fit is an important part of making sure I can do everything I can to have healthy babies and it also makes the weight come off easier afterwards.
