One of my favorite days of the year is coming……Cow Appreciation Day at Chic-fil-A is this Friday (July 11). To get free food this Friday all you need to do is dress like a cow. Cow costumes are so easy to make and can be used for dress up or Halloween. If you have an old t-shirt, you can make an easy to make cow costume in only a few minutes.
Materials Need to Make a Simple Cow Costume:
- White or light colored shirt and shorts
- Yarn
- Peel and Stick Foam (black)
- Scissors
- Construction Paper (white and brown)
Directions:
1. Cut circles in the peel and stick foam and adhere them to the clothing.
2. Cut small pieces of yarn to create a tail and hang that from the back of the shorts.
3. Cut 1 sheet of paper in half (vertical) and then tape or staple the 2 halves together to form the headband.
4. Cut 2 ears out of paper and attach them to the headband.
If you do not have foam, you can always use a Sharpie marker to get the same effect!
Thanks Momondealz for sharing!
Educational Activities:
Math: Cut small and large circles from the foam and have your child create patterns when adhering them to the clothing.
Language Arts: Create a sign with a funny chicken or cow saying and attach that to the costume. Make sure your child writes or traces the words to get in their writing practice!
Of course, you could always show up in a cow mask and get everyone talking!
If the cow mask is a little too much (and really, it might me), check out this adorable cow headband and tail. That would be fun to keep with the dress up clothes.
