Energizer Battery Teams with Habitat for Humanity (Closed Giveaway)

May 17, 2012 by Leandrea Voskanian

If there is one thing that every household needs, it is batteries!  Did you know that some of our most trusted battery brands work behind the scenes with charities?  It’s true!  Energizer works with Habitat for Humanity

For decades Energizer has supported organizations helping to make a positive impact in local communities and around the world. This spring as part of the Energizer campaign—that’s positivenergy—they’re “building” on that commitment in a new way through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity®. Working with baseball legend and philanthropist Cal Ripken, Jr., Energizer is donating more than $300,000 and 1,000 volunteer hours to Habitat through a multi-city series of volunteer projects to help build new homes and revitalize existing homes for those in need.

Like gas, the price of utilities is rising and some families need help paying their utilities.   Energizer is doing something to help us all out.  In addition to the series of volunteer projects, you will see the Energizer and Habitat for Humanity partnership coming to the shelves of your favorite stores. Through the Energizer Utility Cash program, you can collect codes from select Energizer battery and lighting products and redeem them online for savings, up to $25 total savings each per person/household/email address, off your own utility bill.  You start earning rewards with just two codes and will need 10 codes total to earn the full $25.  Or you can help make a positive impact and choose to turn the codes into a donation to Habitat for Humanity®.  Coupons Are Great – and you can use coupons to help bring down the cost of your Energizer batteries, so be on the lookout and check a few coupon databases before you head out to buy your batteries.

To lower our utility bill we always turn off lights when leaving a room – it’s just habit now. Also cut off the tv if no one’s watching and leave the thermostat on ONE setting, period instead of constantly turning it up and down.

We try our best to circulate air through our house in summer time by opening windows at nighttime or early morning to cool the house down before it get too hot. It really cuts down on the need for a/c

My suggestion to lowering your utility bill is to draw the curtains when the sin is in the hottest part of the day on your windows. Helps keep the house from heating up and there’s still plenty of light to see.
