In the photo above you probably have no idea what you are looking at. Simply put, you are looking at $30 worth of American Express gift cards that I received for free from my local mall. I was very skeptical that a mall would really give away money, but it is 100% true. In addition to the 3 gift cards shown in the photo I also received two others this year. To obtain these gift cards I had to visit the mall during select hours, wait in line, and show both my photo id and an email from The Club. This month I received a Birthday email telling me bring the printed email and my photo ID in for a $10 gift card.
You are likely asking yourself “What’s The Club?” Good question. Select General Growth Property Mall locations participate in a program called The Club, which is free to join. Being involved with The Club gives you access to these free gift cards. GGP mall locations are in 44 states so the chances are very likely there is one in your state!
To get started with The Club check to see if there is participating location near you. The Club delivers exclusive promotions, the best discounts, and mall event announcements by email or text. What’s more, The Club provides its members a chance to win a $5,000 shopping spree four times a year! By joining for The Club you will receive:
I recommend going to the website of the mall that is closest to you. For example, here is a nearby mall in Georgia. You can see The Club logo towards the center of your screen. When you click that link you will be directed to a sign up page for that particular mall. Since emails with gift card redemptions are limited to the mall with which you signed up it just makes sense to sign up through your mall’s website. I fully admit that I am not an expert on this though.
These American Express gift cards are valid anywhere in the United States where American Express is accepted, not just at your mall! The funds on these cards do not expire.
Do you have experience with The Club or will you be signing up today? ;-)
