One of the worst things a parent can face is a child with a fever. There’s nothing that brings panic to a parent faster than seeing those cheeks flushed with pinks, the eyes a little crazy, and a sad frown. Having been in this situation more times than I can remember, I know that the first thing I do when one of my girls has a fever is search for the thermometer. A good thermometer is an absolute essential that every parent needs in their medicine cabinet.
All parents dream about a thermometer that is quick, efficient, and doesn’t need to touch the sick child. With the new and improved VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer you can take your child’s temperature quickly and non-invasively. Fantastic! There is no need to stick a thermometer in a ear, mouth, or well….a little bit south. The VeraTemp allows you to take a temperature without any body contact. That laso means no cross contamination and no probe covers. Woohoo!
To use the VeraTemp thermometer simply point the thermometer at your child’s forehead from 2-3 inches away and press “SCAN.” The temperature is instantly displayed on the screen. The VeraTemp stores the 32 most recent temperature readings so you can easily reference your child’s temperature history.
The VeraTemp takes functional a step further with the “Surface” and “Room” temperature modes. Use these modes to check bath water, bottle, baby food, and room temperature. Finding the right temperature is so incredibly easy.
My Thoughts
I am thermometer picky. Like really picky. Prior to using the VeraTemp there was only one thermometer that I liked….and it was a Kroger brand ear thermometer. After receiving the VeraTemp I quickly fell in love. It is so easy to use! I love that there is no contact involved. My girls (ages 6 and almost 5) can easily use this thermometer and they get the exact same results that I get. The girls really like this thermometer. The other night a commercial for Justin Beiber’s concert was on television. Big Sister came running up to my husband with the thermometer, pointed it at his forehead, and yelled “Your temperature is 98.1. You do NOT have Beiber fever.” Ha ha!
I have compared the VeraTemp with my beloved ear thermometer and they are always very close to each other. Just now the VeraTemp registered my temperature as 98.1 and the ear thermometer registered it as 98.6. That’s pretty close! I would feel comfortable giving the VeraTemp to any parent I know! Scratch that, any person I know!
