No matter how hard we care for and try to protect our baby, there always comes a point when a parent has to deal with diaper rash for one reason or another.   When the time comes to treat such a rash, we want to make sure that we use a product that is gentle on the skin but that takes care of the issue quickly.  Boudreaux’s Butt Paste is a diaper rash zinc oxide ointment that was formulated by a pharmacist with the direction of a pediatrician.  The product was sold exclusively through a pharmacy in LA until 1994.   Thankfully, it is now sold all over the United States and can be found in most stores that sell baby products.  The ointment goes on and cleans off easily and is made to not only treat diaper rash but prevent it!

OUR THOUGHTS:

When my first daughter was only a few months old, she started getting diaper rash due to a reaction to a certain chemical in some disposable diapers.  By the time we figured out that it was her diapers causing it, the rash had gotten pretty bad and was not going away with some of the other ointments and creams I tried.  A friend pointed me in the direction of Boudreaux’s, and I was an instant fan.  My daughter’s rash cleared up extremely quickly with the treatment of the ointment and changing the brand of diapers she was wearing.  Since then it has become my number one ointment that I have used any time my children have gotten diaper rash.  For my daughter, we actually used it nightly as a preventative measure to keep her from getting a rash.

Blairex Laboratories sent me a box full of Boudreaux’s goodies, and I was so excited to see that they now not only have an all-natural butt paste but they make a line of baby products including shampoo/body wash, dry skin ointment, and lip moisturizer!   I used the dry skin ointment on my daughter just last week and followed it up with a bath for both kids using the Boudreaux’s Butt Bath.  I didn’t really notice the Butt Bath having any type of scent at all when I scrubbed them up, but I can say that it is tear free for sure as my little guy made sure to scrub his face with it while getting his hair washed!
