Many of you have probably heard, if not experienced one way or another, all about swaddling an infant.  Clinical studies have shown that swaddling calms a fussy, colicky infant and has been shown to reduce SIDS by as much as 30%.   Because babies younger than 14 weeks are not coordinated enough to self-soothe, swaddling assists with helping the infant sleep safer, deeper, and longer.   Therefore, a non-fussy, sleeping baby means a happy mommy and daddy!

Before my first child was born, my husband and I took parenting classes and learned how to swaddle our new infant.  We were taught how to do so with a standard-size baby blanket.  While I have to admit that my husband was pretty good at  properly and securely swaddling using just any old blanket, I was never any good at it.  I relied on him to swaddle our newborn as I never felt like I could do it quite like he could.  If only then I had known about the Miracle Blanket, my need to rely on my husband wouldn’t have been necessary!
