We were sent an infant-sized Woombie to review at my house.  As I have stated before, we swaddled our firstborn child but not our second.  Our hope is to swaddle again with our newborn.  As soon as I opened the package, I thought the “peanut” design was so cute.  I showed it to my husband (who was actually the king of a tight-blanket swaddle with our daughter), and his first comment was, “Now, that’s my kind of swaddle right there!”  So even though I’m the parent that struggles with obtaining a proper swaddle, the pro in my household is already on board with the Woombie rather than attempting to swaddle with a blanket.  I do love the fact that my baby can move his arms a bit inside the Woombie without actually being able to get them out of the blanket and to his face, but my most favorite feature of this swaddle (aside from the fact that this is a super easy swaddle- no struggles for me to try to get the tight swaddle) is actually that it has a two-way zipper.  There is nothing worse than having my baby all swaddled and calmed down in the middle of the night and having to remove the entire swaddle to change a diaper.  With the zipper, I can keep his arms contained inside the blanket and simply zip from the bottom to quickly remove and replace the diaper.  Then we don’t have to get him all the way in and out of a swaddle during nighttime feedings!  This is such a huge deal for me after attempting that for all the night feedings with my other children.  I am pretty sure I will pack this in my hospital bag with me and give it a try from the very first night with our new little guy!

If the Woombie works for our little guy as much as I think it will, then my next step is going to be to purchase some of the leggies for when he is napping in the swing or carseat (this is key when it’s your third child.. I know we’ll not always be able to nap in our crib with two older siblings!).  How cute are the Leggies Woombie?
