memory jar 2012
The New Year is just around the corner. In December it feels as if the previous January was a million years ago and all those little memories that you said you could never forget have begun to fade. Make your memories in 2012 stick! Record them on a simple piece of paper tucked inside a memory jar. At the end of the year the possibilities are endless – tuck them away in an envelope with the year written on them, add them to a scrap book, tape them to a piece of paper and scan them to include in a photo book, or just save a digital copy.

Create a Memory Jar
  • Print the saying that you would like to include on your jar. I always like when other people share their work, and I shared mine in the PDF above. The decorative element is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.
  • Cut your saying and glue to the jar. I mixed glue with water and painted the back of the paper with that mixture
  • Cut a few strips of paper to keep in your jar so you have a piece of paper when you really need it.

A few years ago I bought a cute stamp and created several tags to record the cute things I didn’t want to forget that my girls said. It was a good idea in theory but I didn’t have a centralized place to keep everything. I still sometimes find those little tugs tucked in the oddest places. While it always makes me smile to find them I often wish they were all together. The Memory Jar is the perfect solution!

I like your idea and will probably do it with my grandchildren, but I put my own spin on it for myself. Just a list category on my blog. Thank you for the idea. Here is the link, just in case you’d like to see it. http://mylivesandloves.wordpress.com/2012/01/08/2012-memory-jar/
