Once again this weekend we will be reminded that our earth is not inherently ours and needs to be tended to properly for our children. Since celebrating the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970 many changes have been made to keep our earth green.
Several companies in the United States take an active roll in Earth Day and offer various freebies for their customers. There are quite a few free tote bags this weekend – so round up your plastic bags to trade them in! My favorite freebie is from Origins….of course!
Barnes & Noble: will offer a 20 percent discount on Earth-friendly toys and games from its online store.
Bass Pro Shops: Free Kids’ Challenge Weekend. April 21st and 22nd from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Enjoy crafts, challenges, and the prize wheel!
Caribou Coffee: Free cup of coffee to guests who bring in reusable drinkware on Earth Day.
Chipotle Mexican Grill: If you purchased a lunch bag prior to April 14th you can bring it back for a free burrito on Earth Day! The bags are made from recycled Chipotle billboards.
Disney Store: Free reusable shopping bag when you bring in 5 plastic shopping bags to be recycled.
H-E-B: Free special edition H-E-B Earth Day reusable bag when you bring 5 plastic shopping bags to the store between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on Earth Day.
Jo-Ann’s: Free tote bag to the first 50 customers on Earth Day.
Michaels: Free Earth day tote. Decorate it in store with their supplies! Ages 3 and up.
National Parks: Receive free entrance to any of the almost 400 national parks during the week of April 21st to April 29th.
Origins: Take in your current skincare product (full OR empty!) to Origins and receive a FREE full size Checks and Balances cleanser or A Perfect World Cleanser. Print the form to take with you!
Pottery Barn Kids: Free packet of sunflowers seeds when you visit the store this weekend!
Target: Free reusable bag on Earth Day. Bags to be given away near the guest service desk. In my experience this freebie never makes to the afternoon.
