Did you know that at Petco you can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item? It is true!!! By using two coupons on the same item you are able to save so much money. Topping off your transaction with a $/$$ coupon sweetens the deal even more. According to the store manager at the Petco nearest it is permissable to use a percentage off coupon and a $/$$ coupon together in the same transaction. That seemed odd to me, but if that is their coupon policy then I am not going to complain. I had some dog food coupons that expire today so I headed to Petco where I picked up all of the following for $8.33 out of pocket (that includes sales tax!).

Here is the breakdown of my transaction:
$0.00 = 7 cans of ProPlan (each can was $1.49 minus a FREE coupon from a newspaper insert)
$0.00 = Science Diet Small Bites ($10.99 – used a FREE coupon from Bzz Agent)
$2.00 = Kong Cat Toy (Clearanced – normal price $4.99)
$8.99 = Nutro Cat food ($14.99 – $4 Store Coupon – $2 Manufacturer’s Coupon I found on the bag)
-$5/25

I was excited about my savings. I am sure the people behind me were a bit annoyed because the cashier had to ring up my entire order, then scan the coupon, then scan the item again that the coupon is for. So the checkout process takes a little bit. However, I gave each person in line behind me a $5/25 coupon so they didn’t mind the hold up after all!

Wow! great site! Great savings! Pet food is so expensive! I spend $20 a WEEK. Uhhhhh. But I recently learned of a place that sells my food in 55 lb bags ($22) rather than the 17 lbs I buy at $9.00.
We have a Petco by us, I’m gonna definitely check them out for canned and toys. We go through a lot of toys here, lol Thanks for the info and also for following me! I’m following you back!
