Rainbow Brite Review and CD-Rom Giveaway

I have a confession.  I love Rainbow Brite and I have since I was four-years-old.  When I was a little girl I loved Rainbow Brite so much that my mom and grandma painted my room yellow (more on that later) and then painted Rainbow Brite and Starlite on my wall in bigger than life sized proportions.  My room was the envy of all the girls in 1985!  I spent two weeks straight in that room when I was four, believe it or not.  I made a lot of long distance calls while my parents were asleep and rang up a $300 phone bill.  To this day I cannot be in yellow rooms, but I still love everything about Rainbow Brite and her friends.

When MomSelect offered me the opportunity to receive a CD-Rom that Hallmark filled with brand new Rainbow Brite goodies there was not a chance in the world I was going to say no.  It was like Christmas day when I received my envelope of goodies.  My girls were excited simply because I was excited.  We popped the disc in and watched the mini-episode right away.  My goodness, it has been so long that I didn’t realize Rainbow became a girl and went to Earth.  Immediately Rainbow Brite was filling our screen with her positive messages of courage, kindness, and hope.  I am so excited that she is back while my daughters are young. Hopefully they love Rainbow Brite as much as I did (although I will not paint their rooms yellow with characters on their walls).

(Here are my girls watching the video on the CD-Rom.  Notice the old school Rainbow Brite that my older daughter has?  Excuse the grumpy look on my younger daughter’s face – she was getting over a tummy bug and was horribly grumpy).

You can visit Rainbow Brite at Hallmark’s interactive site here where you will find  an animated video, a contemporary theme song, coloring pages, wallpapers, games, and more.

Target has added these colorful updated dolls to their toy collection as of February.  These dolls will make so many little girls very happy.

I have six interactive CD-Roms to give away.  This CD is filled with fun activities for you and your child.  You will be able to sing along to the Rainbow Brite theme song as you follow the stars as it bounces on the words, solve puzzles, print coloring pages, create pictures, meet the characters, and watch a short animated episode.  My girls and I watched that episode four times in a row the first day we received the DVD and have watched it practically every day since.
