Robbing Peter to Pay Paul

January 11, 2009 by Leandrea Voskanian

I made a last minute trip to Publix tonight to use my Green Valley coupons that expired today. It is the second week in January and today was the first time I felt crunched at the end of my budget week. Teehee, last week must have been good!

I returned some frosting and fixed a price mistake and used that cash to pay for the groceries I purchased. Overall, I bought 18 bags of frozen veggies, 3 lbs of bananas, a bag of apples, and a much needed cat food can cover for less than $5.00.

Is anyone else feeling the crunch already? How much of your budget is self-imposed vs. necessity?

I am looking forward to getting my diapers at Rite Aid this week. I will post a link to the deal tomorrow. It is a total bummer that Caregivers Marketplace is only giving $0.75 per package of diapers rather than $1.00. Silly that I am sad over a quarter, but hey! Those quarters really add up!
