Birthdays are special days in our house. I love making things for my girls that are unique, fun, and well, not from the store. My daughter turned four on Monday (thus the Crafty Tuesday post on Wednesday) and I made her birthday banner the night before.
Materials:
12×12 Paper (any size works)
Paper Cutter/paper trimmer
Letters
Glue/Adhesive
Ribbon
Miscellaneous embellishments
Tape/Stapler
Steps:
1. Cut the 12×12 paper in half
2. Make a mark at 3″
3. From the other end cut from the corners down to the 3″ mark to form a triangle
4. Adhere your letters embellishments
5. Tape/Staple the triangles to the ribbon and TADA, you have a homemade banner
I used my Sizzix die cutting machine with the letters to spell HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I then took color pictures of Care Bears (the birthday theme) and taped them on as well. For my younger daughter’s third birthday I will reuse the banner and tape Sesame Street characters instead. I love the versatility! It didn’t take long to make this banner and my daughter loved it!
