Stamp out Hunger is this Saturday, May 14th. Postal carriers throughout the United States will collect non-perishable food items as they complete their normal routes. Hunger does not discriminate and affects people in your neighborhood. One in EIGHT Americans relies on Feeding America for their next meal.
Head to your pantry and pick up a few items that you bought at the store but you know will not be eaten anytime soon. I know we have Jell-o that will be put aside for Stamp Out Hunger.
If you have picked up freebies at the drug stores lately don’t be afraid to put them in your donation bag. Colgate, razors, and shampoo are important too! The Food Bank in your area will not turn these donations away.
This is the easiest way to donate food all year. Simply put the bag by your mailbox on Saturday morning and your postal worker will pick it up after delivering your mail. Don’t worry, we will remind you on Saturday (and possibly Friday too!).
