This is a fabulous week for both mathematics and vocabulary! This week is Palindrome Week. What’s that mean, you ask? Simple! A palindrome is a word or phrase which reads the same in both directions (mom, dad, stats, Hannah). A palindromic number or numeral palindrome is a number that remains the same when its digits are reversed.
See, for vocabulary…..we learned the word palindrome. And for math we learned about digits and reversal.
Clearly I am not the only one who is excited by this. There are several books and even an app on Amazon that are about palindromes. Check out:
In the end I have this to say….yes, I am a big dork!!! My girls love palindromes and constantly tell me when the time is the same forward and backward. Teaching about numbers is a fun activity in our house.
