The internet is an amazing tool. You can shop in the comfort of your home, wearing pajamas without any makeup while your hair is in a ratty ponytail and find elegant wedding, graduation, birthday, or even Christmas gifts. As the parent of two girls who are 16 months apart in age I will admit that shopping in brick and mortar stores is a challenge. Not only do I have to navigate around the best part of the day behavior wise, but I always have to cross my fingers and hope that the stars are aligned just right when I take both girls shopping. Taking time to browse and make an informed decision while shopping with two little girls is impossible. Hence, the internet is one of my best friends!
My favorite aspects of shopping online include:
- Being able to browse many products at my leisure…in my pajamas if I desire!
- Saving money on gas from not driving from store to store.
- Variety of shipping options…..and getting to avoid standing at the local Post Office to mail to family and friends.
- Saving on Sales Tax (I was born and raised in Oregon, where there is no sales tax, and I am STILL getting used to it…..six years later).
- Cash Back/Rewards Programs.
I recently signed up with Bing, an online rewards shopping program. Bing Rewards Program allows you to earn credits while searching and exploring various features of Bing. Once your credits add up, you can redeem them towards gift cards, merchandise, or even donatations to charity. My favorite rewards include a $10 CVS gift card (1296 credits), a $10 Target gift card (1373 credits), and 400 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 (500 credits).
To shop with Bing you an download their toolbar or you can sign in to their website. Both options have a Rewards credit counter to make viewing your progress towards your favorite rewards incredibly easy.
While using Bing I shopped for women’s belts there were many options available. I liked that I could set my price range. Clicking ont the “Local” tab was neat because it showed local businesses which had “belt” in their title. While I don’t need to go to the “Black Belt Academy” I did get a chuckle out of the reference.
I will definitely use Bing again in the future. I have my eyes on the 400 Microsoft points for Xbox 360 prize! It would be amazing to be able to accumulate that many points before Father’s Day so I could give it to my husband then. If not Father’s Day there is always Christmas!
