Welcome! The goal of Storybook Summer is to spend time reading with your children and engaging them in academic learning. No matter what the age of your child, he or she will love spending time reading a book with you! The lesson plans posted here are very informal but will give you ideas of activities you can do with your children every day related to the weekly book theme. Don’t feel like you need to do everything on the lesson plan. Go ahead and make revisions, additions, and deletions. Visit your local library and check out the Book of the Week at the library to save money (just remember to return it on time).
We encourage dialog!!! If you have a great idea, let us know. If you have ideas for upcoming Storybook Summer weeks, send us an email.
I will generally post the next weeks lesson plans during the weekend. Since this is the first week I am posting them early and hoping to get some feedback from you! Recommendations for change/additions are encouraged.
