The time has come, I rarely use my credit cards anymore. Shocking coming for the girl who swore that the $600 cash rewards we get from our Chase card would not sway me to use cash. But as I stared at heaps of receipts that needed to be entered in to Quicken and talked to my husband about how we are not saving enough money I realized that I HAD to do something different.
Before I had cash in my wallet I didn’t think twice about what I was buying. Originally I thought I just needed a clothing budget for the girls. Then we had a yard sale and I had a bunch of money to deposit so I decided on a wham that I was going to start my cash only system. It is week two. At the end of week one I had zero money left, which isn’t bad considering I went to a scrapbooking convention and bought lots of little things. It is week two and I am doing good!
I still should read more about this system. It seems logical though.
All of my “store” purchases are now with cash. Things like pet food and dog grooming will go on the credit card.
I would love to hear any advice you want to share!
