The girls and I have had fun crafting in a different sort of way lately.  I have been the crafty one and they have been going through the steps with me.  If the hot glue gun wasn’t sooooo hot then they would be able to help, but this is an adult craft.

Materials Needed:
Scissors
Glue Gun (super glue works as well)
Ribbon – green, white, and colored
Hair Clip

To start this project you cover your clip with green ribbon. The way I prefer to do this is to start at the back, wrap around to the front, and then wrap under the front.

To make the butterfly’s antennae I cut the edges off of the green ribbon and then burned them so they did not fray. I then attached them to the top of the butterfly.

Then you take your colored ribbon (polka dot is adorable, but I chose hot pink) and form a figure eight. You can glue that in place or you can continue and make another figure out. When you are done, you will have both sides of the butterfly. Glue that to the barrette.

The last step is to take the white ribbon and make swirlies (don’t you love that made up word?) on the body of the butterfly. Secure each loop with a drop of glue.
