This egg carton craft was sparked from an online scrapbooking class that I recently started. They requested we do a project prior to starting the class. I had my daughter make one too. Egg cartons are the perfect containers to store little gadgets around the house. My daughter currently has her rings and play jewlery in the one she made last week.
We painted (you could use spray paint too) an old egg carton. My daughter’s was styrofoam and mine was the hard cardboard.

The great thing about a project like this is you can just use anything you have at home to decorate it. Let your imagination take you anywhere you want! My daughter chose to use wood chip shapes and stuck them on pipe cleaners and made a “garden” on top of her egg carton. It worked perfectly with her styrofoam container!

Here is her finished product!
And here is my finished project! I used ribbon and glue dots to adhere it around the outer side of the container. Then I created three tags using ribbon, vellum titles, and colored paper. I also inked my edges since I love using ink. This week during class we have been filling the carton with brads and eyelets. I love this idea!
Care to take the challenge? Make an egg carton and share yours here! You can fill it with anything you want!
