Each year there is one catalog that comes in the mail that makes me do a happy dance and that very important piece of mail is the annual IKEA catalog. IKEA is my happy place. There is just so much prettiness and practicality (and free child care) that I am constantly planning updates to our house. A few weeks ago I checked my email and realized that I was invited to the IKEA #IKEACataLove event at the store. You cannot begin to imagine how excited I was that IKEA reached out to me. When I put all the pieces together….I also realized that I would get to see the new IKEA catalog before it came in the mail. It was a total win!

I was invited to attend the IKEA #IKEACataLove event to learn and share about IKEA’s new catalog. I was compensated with a gift card and all opinions are my own.
Flipping through the catalog elicits “oooh’s” and “ahhhh’s” You may even have a shopping list when you are done flipping through the pages. Be sure to keep your IKEA catalog for future reference and design inspiration.

Reasons to Shop at Ikea
1) Affordable Prices. The prices at IKEA are affordable to many people’s budgets. Need a dresser? Get an eight drawer Hemnes dresser for $229.00. Eight drawers and cute all at the same time is a major win. Cabinets that you use in one room can easily be switched between rooms as your needs change.
We have used IKEA products in our laundry room, craft room, living room, play room, and bedrooms. Yep, we are pretty much IKEA junkies! You just can’t beat the price.

2) Good Quality. Did you know that IKEA tests their products for durability and provide warranties for many things including a 25 year warranty on mattresses. Think about that…..a 25 year warranty on a mattress is unheard of! Other warranties include 10 years on the PAX organization system, 10 years on Kitchen Faucets, 25 years on pots and pans, and more!
Our IKEA furniture has outlived the pieces we bought from both Walmart and Target. I can’t justify purchasing furniture from either of those places since our IKEA furniture has lasted much longer.

3) Functional Pieces. Ikea has stylish pieces that are timeless. Use the Kallax unit as a storage unit or a room divider. The Brimnes bed comes with storage drawers underneath. You know you have always wanted to hide all that stuff under your bed…and now you can do just that!

I love IKEA products for organization. They make quick work of the saying “A place for everything and everything in its place.”
4) Tasty Food – Cinnamon rolls and soft serve ice cream are our favorites, but IKEA has food for you to eat while you take a break from shopping in the restaurant. You can take purchase cookies, sparkling cider, and more to take home with you from the shopping area located near the checkout lanes.

Sometimes we grab a 6 pack of cinnamon rolls for a special Sunday breakfast. They are in a nifty container that you can pop in the oven so your cinnamon rolls achieve the perfect temperature.
5) Free Child Care. Drop you kiddo off at Smaland and enjoy one hour of free childcare. Children must be between the ages of 4 and 10 and be fully potty trained. (At the Atlanta store there is also a minimum height requirement). Sign up for the IKEA Family card and you will receive an extra 30 minutes of free child care.
My girls LOVE childcare at IKEA. It’s like they get a play date and we get a shopping date when we go to IKEA as a family!

I love IKEA and am thrilled to be participating in a $100 IKEA gift card giveaway with Ikea Atlanta and several other Atlanta Area Bloggers. Please see the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Contest runs August 1 through August 31, 2014.
