The best Mother’s Day gift I’ve given Mom is a beautiful flowering shrub. One of the reasons it is the best–it’s a great memory for us because it is still growing and flowering ever year for at least 25 years. When my son was little, he went into the neighbors yard and pulled all different kinds of flowers , roses, lilac of the trees, tulips and daffadils. Boy the neighbor was so mad! I explained to my son about not to touch other peoples stuff but I just loved what he did for me. He was only 6 years old and now he is 36. I will always remember that.

The best Mother’s Day present I ever got was a handmade card from my 6 year old that said, “Happy Mommy’s Day”. She was very disturbed that she couldn’t find any in the store with those words. She refused to consider any of the “Happy Mother’s Day” cards because she said that mothers are old and serious, and I wasn’t one of those – I was young and fun, so I was a Mommy!

Don’t laugh but 3yrs ago my hubby asked what I wanted for Mother’s day and I said take the kids to the dollar store and find me a back scratcher.
Well he laughed and that was it. Then last year I opened my gifts and low and behold there was a back scratcher…he remembered that I had wanted one the year before and got it for me. I cried, the fact that he remembered was so cool.

My mothers ring has been my favorite mother’s day gift. Last year for mothers day, I made a scrapbook for my mom and she loved it!
My most memorable gift was my 1st mother’s day which also happened to be my husband’s 30th birthday! With all of the planning and prep I knew he didn’t have time to get a mother’s day present and I wasn’t too worried about it because we had a beautiful baby girl. As we were handing him birthday gifts to open he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little box and handed it to me. I was shocked by the suprise and found a beautiful mother and child heart shaped necklace pendent with a diamond on a silver chain (I prefer silver to gold). It’s one of my favorite pieces of jewelery not for the expense of the piece but the memory of the day!
