Family is Great: Our Week in Pictures Through April 22nd

Sunday has come and gone.  Monday is almost over!  Time needs to slow down and give me time to catch up.  🙂  Family IS great.

This week:

At Aldi I had been watching the carrot cakes like crazy.  The price tag was $6.99 for a whole carrot cake, which is great.  But I knew I would be in trouble if I ever bought a whole carrot cake.  Like….BIG TROUBLE.  Carrots, cream cheese, raisins?  Last Sunday night I was in Aldi and I noticed that this carrot cake was expiring the next day.  I asked about it and the told me it was only 99¢.  Say what?  Of course I bought two!  I sent one to school for the bake sale…and ate half a carrot cake by myself in 12 hours.  Oops.  Every bite was delicious.  Self control?  Yeah, I don’t have it!

We played Mickey Yahtzee.  There are a few things wrong our methodology though.  We don’t have the directions and we don’t have all the pieces.  Apparently I didn’t play the same was as Daddy so there was a little bit of turbulence at the start, but somehow I managed to play following a four-year-olds rule process.  If anyone really knows how to play I would love a quick little tutorial.

I used the cake pop maker!  Those are cake pop balls rolled in powdered sugar for the bake sale.  I know, I know….doesn’t that picture make you think that professional cake pop makers are super talented?  I can’t even make a basic cake ball with a special maker!

 

We worked on time for homework.  Fun!

Monsters were created.  I liked this little guy!  He was a prize box toy from school.

We also busted out ALL the Play-Doh and had an hour worth of fun.  Daddy was busy in the kitchen starting a project……..

Crown Molding!!!  My husband is totally awesome.  I cannot follow directions to put together patio furniture (true story) but my husband gets tons of kudos for taking on the challenge of crown molding!

The new nailer is super loud so we had to bust out the ear protection gear.  Those things have been everywhere with us.

The girls drew on the tool boxes in the garage.  It really doesn’t matter their age….kids love boxes!

After the second soccer game of the weekend we had a little bit of fun on the playground.  The girls loved wheelbarrow races!  That little boy is a month older than my daughter.

Big sister finally had the motivation to do the monkey bars by herself.  She did it again and again and again!

We went to Sonic and were almost blown away.  Literally!  The wind was between 15 and 30 miles per hour.  We quickly ditched our outdoor idea and headed for the car.  On a side note…..I am a dessert lover. You may have already guessed that from my carrot cake confession above.  There is very little sugar that I have ever met that I didn’t like.  But lately Sonic ice cream and I aren’t jiving.  It has been so grainy….I can feel particles in it.  I threw away my hot fudge Sunday.  Who does that?  Not me.  Never!  I guess I will stick with a cherry limeade next time.
