Family IS great. As I sit here typing this I realized that there are only three weeks until school starts. Three weeks is 21 days and that simply is not enough time! I am going to spend those 21 days devouring time with the girls. I am one of those parents who enjoys spending time with her children. Over the last two weeks we had quite a bit of fun. Here is our week in pictures.
We have had c-r-a-z-y thunderstorms every afternoon in Georgia. The girls were supposed to have two weeks of swimming lesson. Of the 8 lessons they were supposed to have they only had 3.5 because the thunder came right at swim lessons time. Since the girls had their suits on they enjoyed some chalk drawing in the rain…..
And running through the rain too! They had a BLAST!
In my last Family is Great post I mentioned that Big Sister was about to lose a tooth. Well….she did! Daddy pulled it out one night. I was actually scared that she was going to swallow it in her sleep…it was that loose. Teeth are slippery and slimy. I tried pulling that tooth out too, but couldn’t get enough of a grip on it.
The Tooth Fairy Pillow was complete a few hours before the tooth came out. The Tooth Fairy brought Big Sister a one dollar bill that had glitter all over it, two quarters, and a letter from the Tooth Fairy. She tells everyone about the Tooth Fairy letter and even took it to Art Camp with her last week to show one of her camp mates. I highly recommend this letter!
We went to The Center for Puppetry Arts. I really liked it! A review is coming soon!
We had a play date on Chic-fil-A’s dress like a cow day. The kids had fun making their shirts. I need to find Little Sister’s shirt and take a close up picture of it. Her idea of making a “cow shirt” was to draw a picture of a cow on the shirt. I didn’t put much stock into the left handed versus right handed difference until I had a lefty. Now I believe there are some major differences in how are brain works based on hand preference.
And in BIG NEWS…..Big Sister mastered the skill of Shoe Tying! I found those shoes on 70% clearance at Target. Big Sister loves them and was very motivated to learn how to tie. After watching a how-to video on You Tube by a same age peer there was no stopping Big Sister.
We got ready for the Olympics with some hurdles. They are intended for use outside, but since there was a big thunderstorm we used them inside. They truly are an indoor outdoor project.
The girls and I went to Birmingham on Friday night to see Super Why Live. It was an amazing show. Our trip to Alabama was short – only 24 hours. The girls were amazed to see….mountains. It was hilarious. Clearly we need to visit Oregon soon! Little Sister was content to jump on the bed, and I was content to let her jump as much as she wanted.
But when Little Sister wasn’t jumping on the bed she was playing with her new Alabama bear. The gift shop at the hotel had the bear with a t-shirt for only $9.99. I couldn’t believe I was getting a shirt for the girls and a bear wearing a shirt for such a great price.
At the Georgia Visitor Center we picked up some maps. The girls were amazed at how big they were. 🙂
Little Sister got her photo taken at the Georgia Visitor Center sign. We are definitely not visitors. Georgia feels like home!
