Do you need a frugal gift idea? Make a felt race track for your favorite child this year! Felt and glue are incredibly inexpensive and chances are that you already have some scissors lying around the house. How else would you cut your favorite coupons?

What You’ll Need
Felt of several different colors
Scissors
Ruler (optional)
Glue (Aleene’s or a Hot Glue Gun)
Make a Felt Race Track
Choose the color felt for your mat. We chose dark purple.
Cut black felt into 4″ wide strips and create the track.
Cut yellow felt into 1/2″ strips to make the road be divided into sides.
Once you have a basic track you have two choices – you can create a perfect, adult made track that will look like it came out of a magazine. OR you can allow your children to create with you. I opted to craft with my girls. We made trees, lakes, and more out of felt. Sure, those items may not be recognizable to a large percentage of the population but everyone in our family knows that the tree is the tree.

Using printable craft coupons you will save a lot of money on this craft! If you are able to find felt that is marked down at JoAnn’s you will save even more.
If you are looking for even more felt crafts we suggest you create a Felt Story Board. Don’t miss these crafts: Felt Snowman Ornaments and Felt Character T-Shirts
