Having homemade pizza is a special treat when it is a fruit pizza. Instead of a savory or salty taste, fruit pizzas are packed full of sweetness and the vitamins of the assorted fruit you use. Despite looking like they have a ton of fruit, these pizzas really don’t have all that much. For this recipe we used a box of sugar cookies for the crust. The frosting was made by combining one package of cream cheese with 1/2 cup of sugar and two teaspoons of vanilla. With some fresh fruit toppings we completed our delicious dessert…..ok….so maybe it was a snack.
To make the “dough” use a sugar cookie base. You can use a box, refrigerated, or homemade dough as the bottom of your cookie.
Once you cookie has baked, spread your homemade frosting from edge to edge. This is a great activity for kids.
Putting the fruit on the pizza is fun and the designs and shapes you make are as varied as your imagination.
We liked making a circle of each of the fruits with a group of blueberries and grapes int he middle. The next time we make a fruit pizza I will get a star fruit. That should impress my girls tremendously.
Getting kids in the kitchen is a great way for them to experience math, reading, and fine motor skills. Older children can help hull strawberries or even cut fruits. Younger children can help roll the dough, spread the frosting, and put the fruit on. This is a fun recipe that gets everyone in the family working together in the kitchen.

I LOVE fruit pizza!!! I haven’t made it for a while though. I use my Pampered Chef bar pan and then I put a lot of fruit on top. I might just have to make some soon.
I LOVE your blog.
