There is nothing harder than shopping for……a man (unless it’s my father-in-law and he has an amazon wish list for his millionaire family that doesn’t really exist).  Thankfully there are companies who know this and make products that are perfect for men.  One such company is The Sportula.  This company manufactures a grilling spatula that is perfect for  tailgating and barbecues.  Their target audience is men!

Since this is a product that will appeal to men, I am going to tell the story as I told it to my husband.  It’s short…I promise.  After telling my husband that I had the opportunity to review The Sportula he said “Oh.”  Typical one word answer, right?  I asked him to sit down and find one that he liked or one that we could give to one of our dads.  Still thinking I was out of my mind my husband sat down and said he couldn’t find anything.  I think he looked at the Collegiate, Nascar, Patriotic, Corporate, and Enthusiast tabs.  I then asked if he saw the Theta Chi Sportula.  ”What?  There’s a Greek section?” was his reply.  I don’t know how he missed it, but he did.  He then sat down, smiled, and scrolled through the Greek Sportulas, deciding that Theta Chi was his choice.  You see, once he found one that he liked there was no sharing it with anyone else!

When The Sportula arrived in the mail I put it on the bookshelf so it didn’t get lost in a chaotic mess.  Later that night I pulled it out to show my husband and he had one word.  ”Awesome!!!”  That was shortly followed with “When were you going to tell me this was here?  When are we going to grill?”   Funny how a product that my husband was so skeptical about at first quickly became something that was a cool toy!

The quality of the Sportula is fantastic.  The wooden handle is thick.  On ours the words “THETA CHI” is engraved on the front and “THE SPORTULA” is engraved on the back.  The end is beveled so it slides under your grill items with ease.  The metal is thick and this spatula is definitely the thickest, highest quality in our house!  We haven’t actually used this yet.  I know, I know!  I think it is so cool to look at that we should hang it on the wall while my husband is still trying to find it again.
