What is Ibotta?

Ibotta is an iPhone/Android app that allows you to save money.  Learn facts, take polls, and/or watch videos and you will receive an offer amount for that specific product (examples include Listerine, Neosporin, Pine-Sol, Coca Cola Zero, International Delight, and more).  Head to the store, buy the item required for the offer, scan the product bar code, scan the receipt, and wait.  Your receipt will be approved quickly, and you will watch the money add up in your account.  Once you have $20 in your account you can cash out via PayPal or receive a gift card from Starbucks, Amazon, Walmart, Regal, Best Buy, and more!

Getting Started

Here’s how to get started:

1. Sign up for a free Ibotta account. You can either sign in with Facebook or use your email address. If prompted use referral code hlntg for your $10 bonus
2. Check your email and confirm your account (if you signed up via email).
3. Download the app.

Choosing Offers

After you have downloaded the Ibotta app and opened it you will be able to see the “Rebates” tab.  Scroll through the available categories and items to see what offers are currently available and the cash back that you can earn from each one.  My favorites are the “Any Brand” rebates.

Which Store Participate

New stores are being added to Ibotta.  All the stores I shop at regularly are on the list (except Aldi).  Joann’s, Sprouts, Kroger, Publix, and many many more stores are on the list of available retailers.

Getting Your Money

Once you have shopped keep the products eligible for rebates handy.  Scan the product bar codes.  Then snap a picture (or pictures) of your receipt.  You will be notified within 48 hours of the status of your rebate.  Cash out via Paypal, or gift cards to Walmart, iTunes, Starbucks, Regal, Best Buy, and more when you have $20 or more in your account.
