The conversation at the dinner table tonight went like this:
Big Sister: “Mom, some of the kids at gymnastics camp today say their favorite singer is Kelly Clarkson. Who is she?”
Me: “Oh, you know her songs….What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…..”
Little Sister: Hums along
Daddy: “We can watch the music video if you want.” Some commentary about how there is a dance to the song. I mention something about it looking like a flash mob.
Daddy Again: “Wait, did you know there were some cancer patients who lip synched to this song? I heard about it on the news a few weeks ago, but then forgot.”
We watch. I cry.
An amazing group of children/young adults and staff from the hematology unit at the Seattle Children’s Hospital put together an amazing video proving that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Grab your tissues and watch the following music video!
