The last week of summer is here for my girls. I think it is crazy that they go back to school on August 13th. Starting school so early is totally foreign to me. I grew up in Oregon where we went to school from Labor Day until early June, mid-June if there was a lot of snow that we had to make up days for. But here we are, August 6th, and my girls have less than 7 days until summer vacation is over. I truly love having summers to be with my girls. Sure, there are times when we are all annoyed and need a break, but the good times are paramount.
So this week I planned on celebrating with a fun activity every day. And then……we scheduled surgery for Little Sister. She goes in on Wednesday morning to have an Adenoidectomy and tubes put in her ears. These are both simple procedures and we should be at the Children’s Hospital for less than half a day. We have to be at the hospital at 6:15 on Wednesday morning…..which is an incredible way to beat the morning rush hour traffic.
If you notice a decrease in posts over the next few days it is because…..well…..it’s the last week of summer and I have a kiddo who is having surgery.
Two questions for you, when does school start for your kiddos? Is there anyone else who has a child who has an adenoidectomy? Do you have any tips or advice?

In our part of Wisconsin, school generally starts September 1 (not sure if that is a state-wide thing or not). This year that falls on a weekend, so we start after Labor Day, September 4th.

Enjoy the rest of you summer Shannon!
