The time is now. Turn to your children and ask them what them to give you their favorite Thanksgiving recipe. If your child is younger you may need to ask what their favorite Thanksgiving food is and then ask how to prepare it.
I asked both of my girls these questions and here are their answers:
Three-Year-Old Daughter: Chicken nuggets are my favorite. Just put them in the bag and then freeze them and then cook them and eat them.
Five-Year-Old Daughter: My favorite is the dessert at the end. Donuts. To make them you need a bagel. Put it in sugar…..powdered sugar. Dip it in and then you can eat it. And put some sprinkles and frosting on them. Yum!
For what it’s worth – we eat turkey every Thanksgiving and have never had chicken nuggets for Thanksgiving dinner. 🙂 In the eyes of my daughters either I am the worst cook in the world or the best cook! But now I am wondering…..could you really turn a bagel in to a donut?
I implore you to do this for your child’s memory book. Your family will look back at these memories and smile years down the road. If that doesn’t motivate you then check out the Win Dinner contest by Juno Baby. They are giving away dinner in the form of four grocery gift cards. The grand prize is $100, a second prize of $50, and two $25 gift certificates if you’re one of the top 4. I did this as a record for my girls, but the thought of winning grocery store gift cards is pretty nice!
