When you think of The Elf on the Shelf you may not think scarecrow in the same sentence. However, there is no denying that The Elf on the Shelf Scarecrow in the photo is absolutely adorable! This October everyone who drives down one of the main roads in our town is reminded that The Elf on the Shelf is watching you, what you say and what you do! Several elementary schools in my area create and assemble scarecrows each fall and the 100+ scarecrows are on display for a month. This one was my absolute favorite!
My girls love The Elf on the Shelf tradition that we started three years ago. Our elf, Addie, comes a little after Thanksgiving (although this year I think it will be December 1st) and scoots to a new place each night. Some elves are slightly naughty (which leads to lots of giggles) while other elves are sneaky and hide around the house.
If you are looking to an alternative to the traditional Elf, then Pop In Kins Elf Pop-In-Kins Christopher or Pop In Kins Elf Pop-In-Kins Christina Marie are two great alternatives.
Of course, I totally recommend the Christmas Pickle in addition to a fun, friendly elf!
To leave you with another year’s scarecrow that is also one of my all time favorites….here is If You Give a Mouse A Cookie. We made this If You Give a Mouse a Cookie craft a year before we saw the scarecrow.
