Crafty Tuesday is brought to you on Wednesday this week and is a very simple craft to do.
Materials:
Water
Food Coloring
Ice Cube Trays
Paper
Measuring Cup
Mix some water and food coloring in a liquid measuring cup. Since you are essentially making water paint you want to use more food coloring than you think you should be using or it will be very light when your kids paint. Fill the ice cube trays with water and allow them to freeze. I put pipe cleaners or toothpicks in the ice cube trays thinking they would make good handles to hold on to. Well, that was a good idea but not so good in actuality. The toothpicks poked holes in the paper. The pipe cleaners did work out for us but did get a little bit of fuzz on the paper.
After the ice cubes are completely frozen put out some paper and paint away! This is a great activity for outdoors. If you are smarter than I was, you would make some juice ice cubes (or ice cubes with a frozen fruit in them) to have in your drinks while you paint. My girls really wanted to eat the food colored ice cubes.
