Do you want to know how to find a mechanic? My dad is a mechanic and tonight he gave me the best tip on how to find a good mechanic.
To find the best mechanic in your area head to your local parts stores (Napa, Auto Zone, O’ Reiley’s, or a local place) and start talking with the person behind the counter. Ask them who the best mechanic in the area is. Don’t ask who the busiest is, but who the best is. Head to several parts stores and take note of what shop(s) each one recommends. Compile your notes and see which local mechanic has the best recommendations.
Then a search engine like Google or Swagbucks is your friend. See what you can find about that site online to confirm what you learned.
Finding a good mechanic is so important. We have all heard stories of mechanics who really are all about the money. My dad told a story about an older lady (in her 70’s) who came to his shop with a car that had 14,000 miles on it. She had taken the car to the dealer and they told her she needed $2,800 worth of repairs. He said he looked that car over from top to bottom and could not find a single thing wrong with it.
While Coupons are Great we need to make sure that we are getting the most bang for our bucks in areas where coupons are often not available.
Do you have a good or bad mechanic story? We would love to hear!
