Do you ever feel like doing a craft with your children but you just don’t know what to make? We had the opportunity to create two projects from Freckles Crafts. My four-year-old and I made the Christmas Countdown. I fully intended helping my younger daughter (age 2.5) with the Bernie the Bird Puppet kit, but she took initiative and did not want any of my help. Of course I glanced over and gave a few suggestions every now and then, but with the pieces and instructions with photo supplied by Freckles Crafts she pretty much completed the craft by herself. As a parent I have become much better at stepping back and letting my children be creative. While our Bernie the Bird doesn’t look exactly like the ones on the directions, I like it that way. The creating process isn’t always about following the directions precisely.

The Christmas Countdown used transfer tape, something I was unfamiliar with. The directions supplied in the kit were perfect and we had no trouble using the transfer tape. I now think both Freckles Crafts and transfer tape are brilliant!  Both of these crafts were sooooo much fun and each of my daughters asked for more.  The Christmas Countdown is such a success that Natalie has asked to hang it on just about every surface in our downstairs.  She is now anxiously awaiting the Christmas tree so she can hang it there.  For the record…..there are 48 days until Christmas.  🙂

Freckles Crafts has a large selection of fun crafts. They would be perfect for a play date or birthday party! Grandparents would love getting one of these hand made crafts AND grandparents would love making one of these crafts with their grandchildren.  Heck, there doesn’t even need to be an occasion to use these kits!  Having a few on hand is just an excellent idea.
