If you haven’t been able to tell from my posts about How to Create Lego Earrings and the Lego Friends Advent Calendar – we were in full on LEGO Friends mode during the last week. Little Sister turns 7 she had a LEGO Friends party. Sure, we had it at Chuck E Cheese but that didn’t stop me from creating some really fun goodies to stick in goodie bags! Really, who doesn’t want a cookie that looks like a LEGO? Big Sister was adamant that she wanted teal colored cookies to match teal colored LEGOs and sure enough….there are teal colored LEGOs! I chose the dark pink color to go with them since it was in the Wilton Gel kit that I purchased. I could have used purple too.
To make LEGO Friends sugar cookies you need a few things. You need a sugar cookie recipe (my favorite is one from Wilton), a Royal Icing recipe, cake decorating supplies (icing bag, tip, coupler, and a squeeze bottle), time, Wilton Gel Kit, and patience.
This was my very first time EVER making and using Royal Icing. That means it was my first time decorating with it as well. Sweet Sugar Belle has everything you need to know to make these cookies – with videos for first timers! You have to check out her recipes, instructions, photos, and videos. It will make your life so much easier and will give you extra time in the day since you will be able to do things correctly the first time. I spent so much time looking at her website and videos.
You can tell my cookies are not perfect (and I never claimed they were). But they were pretty awesome, don’t you think? Will you attempt to try these yourself?

I love this. Not only do they look delicious, but the great thing about Legos is you never outgrow them. Who doesn’t love Legos.
