Are you looking for a super easy last minute Halloween craft to do with your favorite kids this weekend? Paper Jack O Lanterns are incredibly easy to make! With some colored construction paper, glue, and crayons you can create a Halloween masterpiece that will take up around 30 minutes of time. This is great bonding time with the kindergarten age crowd or an excellent solo craft for the older crowd.
To make our Paper Jack-o-Lantern we drew the outline of a pumpkin in orange crayon on the paper. I tore strips of paper into pieces (smaller pieces work for older children and larger pieces work better for younger children). The girls then glued the torn paper scraps where ever they wanted to within the outline. I was able to cook dinner and help them at the same time. Talk about easy! Older children can tear the paper themselves…and they tend to like being a little bit destructive when it’s ok and part of an activity.
