The reunion of military personnel with their family has been captured by photographers countless times. The emotions that pour from those photos are real. My younger brother has returned home from three tours of duty with the Marines. While I was not there for any of his homecomings I can only imagine that it truly was the happiest day of his life. While they may have left the war of the east behind them, these soldiers will be facing a new war….Divorce. Military divorces have increased 42% since 2001.
My brother is actually in that 42% statistic. His first marriage ended in divorce. He has since remarried….and was deployed again….and I have watched as my brother and sister-in-law work so hard to make everything work.

My brother was deployed twice, before he got married, and his marriage still ended in divorce. Our military marriages have so much added stress to the already challenging quest of marriage!

It must be hard, especially when loved ones are away for periods of time. Best wishes to all!
This was really informative for me. I hadn’t really thought about this issue.
I like this a lot. I know several millitary personnel and this is a hard thing to keep together. God Bless those who choose to work things out.
