DIY Project: Make your own New Years Eve Photo Booth Props with Free Printable

December 31, 2016 by Leandrea Voskanian

Nothing says New Years Eve and New Years Day quite like some fabulous New Years Eve Photo Booth Props.  In 2014 we made adorable glasses, mustaches, and lips.  To keep with our new tradition, I have updated the printable so it has 2015 glasses for this New Years Eve celebration.  Included in this post is a FREE print out so you can make your very own 2015 glasses and more!

Make this New Years Eve memorable with DIY photo booth props!

  • New Year’s Eve Photo Booth Props Free Printable.  <—  This opens as a PDF.
  • Glue (I use a 1:1 glue to water mixture that I keep in an old jelly jar.  It is very easy to paint with and is versatile enough to use on many different crafts).  You can also use Modge Podge if you have it on hand….I really like Modge Podge!
  • Paint brush
  • Glitter
  • Pencil
  • Cardboard (I used an old shirt box)
  • Scissors/Exacto Knife
  • Dowels.  I picked up a package of 12 for 99¢ at Joann’s today!
  • 2 Pieces of Paper
  • Hot Glue Gun

Wait a MINUTE!!!!  I also had a moment of clarity in the past year and STIFFENED FELT makes this project SUPER SIMPLE.  There is no need for glitter or cardboard or modge podge.  And these props will last a very long time when you use stiffened felt rather than an old box.

How to Make Your Own New Years Eve Photo Booth Props

glitter glasses tutorial

Using the New Year’s Eve Photo Booth Props Free Printable, cut out the images.  Using a pencil, trace the numbers onto a piece of cardboard.  Using a paint brush apply the Modge Podge/Glue to the object you traced.  Apply glitter.  Keep one piece of paper under the cardboard at all times so you can transfer the glitter back and forth.  Allow to dry.  You may need a second coat of glitter, which can be applied right over the first once it is dried.  Glue the dowel to the back of the object using a hot glue gun.

You don’t need the glitter to make this project complete.  But we all know that glitter makes everything better!
