It’s almost time for one of the downright silliest holidays of the year – Groundhog Day. On February 2nd of each year we hold our breaths as everyone’s favorite groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, sees his shadow (or not). If it is cloudy and the groundhog does NOT see his shadow then spring is supposed to come early. However, if it is sunny, and the groundhog DOES see his shadow then winter weather will continue for 6 more weeks. Odds favor him seeing his shadow, as was the case during the 2012 Groundhog Day.
We made cute little Groundhog Day puppets this year using construction paper, brown paper bags, glue, and scissors. The face is a giant brown heart, the ears are a small brown oval cut in half. We used the brown paperWith black almond shaped eyes, oval nose, and whiskers this little guy was almost complete. We gave him some teeth using white copy paper.

It is too late to get this deal now, but you can pick up Groundhog’s Day on DVD for only $5.00.
Once we get past Groundhog Day it is time to delve into Valentine’s Day. If you want to see more Valentine’s Day craft ideas check out these fun craft posts:
