Valentine’s Day crafts are a very fun way to add big chunks of family time to your February calendar. Make a few of these heart shaped construction paper animals and add them to Valentine’s Day Cards or Valentine’s Day Card Boxes. My Girl Scout Brownie troop is going to an assisted living facility this weekend and Big Sister made several cards to hand out to residents using these heart shaped animals. I love that we thought outside the traditional pink, red, and white theme box for some of those Valentine’s Cards this year!
To make these super fun, super easy crafts all you need is some heart shaped inspiration (see above), scissors, glue, and construction paper. Our family is very partial to googley eyes on projects since the final projects do indeed turn out cuter with googley eyes almost every single time.
Among the Heart Shaped Animals you can create:
- Elephant
- Bee (two ways!)
- Lion
- Frog
- Butterfly
- Dog
- Raccoon
- Caterpillar
- Fox
- Cat (or hamster!)
- Frog
- Penguin
- Bunny
- Owl
Each of of the animals above has at least one heart included in its makeup. Many of the animals have several hearts, making them extra lovey. Soon I will break down all of the pieces of those animals so you have zero doubts about how to create them.
Which heart shaped animal is your favorite?
