The Time We Made Chocolate Lego Men and Chocolate Lego Bricks

Our household is LEGO obsessed.  There is so much goodness that comes with LEGOs’ including critical thinking, creativity in learning, and engineering – what’s NOT to love?  We have had a LEGO Friends birthday party, baked LEGO Friends cookies, created LEGO earrings, and given LEGO rings as Valentine’s.  It was only a matter of time before we made chocolate LEGO men and chocolate LEGO bricks.

I found this set of silicone Lego Molds that includes bricks and figures and it was love at first sight.  Aaaand, the set is less than $6.00 which is also incredibly awesome.

About this LEGO Mold Set

• Great combination ice or candy trays for lego party! Flexible silicone trays allow ice to pop out easily. Minifigure tray is 6.5″ by 4.5″ by 0.5″. Building brick tray is a little larger at 7″ by 4.8″ by 1″.

To make Chocolate LEGO Bricks and Chocolate LEGO Men we melted chocolate chips in a plastic bag in the microwave.  Once the chocolate chips were melted we cut off the tip of the bag and filled the molds.  The bag of melted chocolate was hot (understandably) and I needed to hold it with an oven mitt.  I popped these into the fridge and checked on them 30 minutes later and they were ready to be popped out.  My girls LOVE these chocolate LEGOs, and I do to!  We will make them again using Wilton Candy Melts in fun colors.  The primary colored candy melts will make the perfect LEGO bricks and men!
